Hello!
My name is Lydia and I am a first-generation college student! I am also a big sister and an avid reader, adventurer, procrastinator, and music listener.
My mom has always told me that I am the type of person that cannot stay in one place too long because I get bored and always want to be doing something new. Last year I left home to attend Gonzaga University, and now I have been given the opportunity to study abroad this upcoming spring at the University of Glasgow in Scotland. I will continue to study International Relations there. After that, I will be going to Sinop, Turkey for two months to work on an excavation project. My goal for this blog is to let my friends and family know that I am alive and well, and to also record all of my experiences so that I have something to look back on in a few years.
I leave January 4th, and even though that seems light-years away, I know that there is a lot of work to be done between now and then. I have to somehow pack all of the things I will need for eight months into one checked bag that weighs 50lbs. I do not know how I am going to do that but it has to be done eventually. I am still unpacking my car from the 17 hour drive it took to get home. Right now I am really enjoying being with my crazy family. I love the madhouse that I call home and the holiday season is one of my favorites.
That is all I have for now, I look forward to what life has to offer in the next few weeks!
