T’is the night before I leave and I find myself on my laptop, avoiding the work I should be doing.

Currently I feel extremely overpacked and underprepared. I have made my mom go through my packing list twice to make sure I haven’t forgotten anything. Even though I am so excited to go on this incredible adventure, I am also sad that I am going to be leaving my family for eight months. My mom is really excited for me, but I know she hates it when I leave. I have promised her that I am going to Skype her at least once a week and that I will text her often. (T-Mobile has free international roaming now. It is great.)

I am really curious to see how everything will unfold tomorrow, but in 36 hours, I will have left my desert home and will find myself in beautiful, green, and wet Glasgow, Scotland. I am so excited.
