Today I made my first ever voyage out into the Scottish Highlands. It was incredible.
The day started off bright and early when Laura (my Estonian flatmate) dragged me out of bed at 7:15am. It was a struggle. The heating in our flat broke and it was way too cold to get out of bed. When I finally gathered got in an Uber and made our way down to the bus station where we met up with our tour guide- a ginger by the name of Gary, who is probably one of the most interesting people I have ever met. We hopped on the bus and started our day of exploration in Glencoe, Loch Lomand, and Luss.
Nature always makes my jaw drop and today was no exception. There is something inspiring about feeling so small in the world. As I stood on top of the mountains, looked into crystal clear waters, and climbed on rocks, days like today remind me that life is good. Being surrounded by endless beauty really makes the stress of school and life disappear- even if only for a few hours. Today reminded me about the importance of being able to just be and appreciate the things in your surrounding. Now as I sit shivering in my freezing flat, I feel good about what I did today and the incredible things that I saw.
Here is my attempt at capturing some of the beauty that I saw today. I definitely did not do nature justice.

Life is definitely good in Scotland. Thanks for being my valentine highlands.
